Irish Warriors 2007-2008 Report Card: CJ Watson

Trying to follow in the footsteps of the greats isn't a bad idea

On theory Watson desverves an incomplete grade. He didn't do a lot to make his teammates better. He proved adequate at getting the ball from the endline to the top of the arc at the other end, but once asked to quarterback the team in a set offense, he didn’t do much. The question is would he be worth a roster spot. I presume the Warriors will either draft or sign a back-up point guard again this off-season, as they attempted to do last year with Troy Hudson. I’d give Watson an edge over most second rounders, but I’d rather give a first rounder or free agent a chance to run the second squad. It's not that Watson was bad but he just never showed or didn't do a whole lot to show he was capable of running the second unit

He's not the pass first backup PG the Warriors desperately need and he hasn't shown any indication of being a shut down defender against other PG but he produced when he got the minutes, and that’s all you can ask from a guy who started on a 10-day contract.

Now the only piece of youtube and even though this blog doesn't endorse it you have to laugh a little just for injuring the most annoying player in the League

Overall Grade: C+
